When something isn't working

Something isn't working

What to check before writing to us, and what to tell us so we can fix it fast.

Before writing, two minutes that sometimes sort it out.

  • Reload the page. If the screen was left half-done, it almost always comes back on its own.
  • If what doesn't add up is data about a call – a date, an amount, a document – check it against the official call: that is the one that binds, and every record links to the rules and to the sede electrónica, the government's online filing portal. If the public body says one thing and we say another, tell us: that we can fix.
  • If an email doesn't arrive, it has its own article: an email isn't arriving.
  • Look at the FAQs: nearly everything you ask us is answered there.

What to tell us

What speeds up a fix most isn't the description of the problem: it is being able to reproduce it. This is usually enough.

  • Which screen you were on, and the address that was in the browser bar.
  • What you expected to happen and what actually happened.
  • The error message exactly as it came out, copied or in a screenshot.
  • Which browser, and whether it happens in another one or on your phone too.

On the Contact form choose the reason “Something isn't working”: that is the one dealt with first. We answer within one or two working days, and people answer.

If the fault is stopping you working, say so in the message. What blocks comes before what annoys.
