Three emails come out of here, and each one gets stuck in a different way. Before anything else, look in your junk folder: that is where nearly all of them end up.
The one confirming your address
It is good for seven days. Until you open it, the dashboard won't open: instead you get “Confirm your email”, with a button for us to send it to you again – use it too if the previous one expired. If you mistyped your own address, right there you have log out and in with a different account. And if it still doesn't arrive, write to us from Contact and we'll confirm it by hand.
The password one
It is good for one hour and works only once. Asking for another kills the previous one, so always open the last one you were sent. And for security we answer the same whether the account exists or not: if the email address you typed isn't exactly the account's, nothing will arrive and we won't tell you either. It is set out in password and access.
The daily alerts email
It goes out once a day, in the morning, and only if there is something: an empty email saying there is no news never arrives. If none arrives, most likely nothing has happened in what you follow. Two switches have to be on for it to arrive: the email one and the one for the family of alerts concerned, and both belong to each person, not to the organisation.
The switches are in choosing which alerts you get, and what the email brings is in the daily email.
Alerts don't depend on email: they are always in the dashboard bell, whether your inbox gets them or not.
